University of Euroregional Economy in the eyes of a student

FIRST SEMESTER UPDATES ON INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Currently the university has increase its student’s intake. However more of them were from Nepal and the rest are from India, Turkistan, Bangladesh and Ghana respectfully. In a way I see that the students would be able to mingle and learn each other culture as they proceed in their quest for education. Since this university is still an infant in the relations with foreign students, we also intend to come together as one and cooperate with university staff.

The university offered pickups from the airport and that made the new students felt more at ease. Hostelling the new students was a priority of the administration and the hostel was a little closer to the university.

In the month of November 21st 2011, University of Euroregional Economic in conjunction with Higher Police School organized a conference on:

IV INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE ON -QUALITY IN ACTION ON INTERNAL SAFETY OF VISEGRAD GROUP COUNTRIES FROM EUROPEAN PERSPERTIVE.

During the conference there were many participants within Poland and other countries. Among the presentations was Mr Henry Appiah Gyamfi, a master student, presenting on COMPARISM OF VISEGRAD GROUP AND ECOWAS.

Within the same month November 24th, 2011 was ORIENTATION DAY of which some staff members and Polish students also attended. After, we all climaxed at a restaurant to dine and also socialize. There I saw that the University have future with foreigner’s intake but without the involvement of the students it would be like building castles in the air. This manifestation was exhibited through interactions with many of the students of which most of them are willing to assist and share their experiences.

Classes have been booming and sometimes when I peep into some lectures I see the thirst and hunger for education. This made me delightful for I see that the future of those students is in a correct path. I was physically challenged when I spoke to one of them and he shared his experience with me. He had many opportunity of finishing his education but on the edge of his journey many hindrances came by. He is thriving to complete what he started off even thou he is aging. Mean while, I was thinking that am aging and I better think of settling down for work. Therefore his testimonial strengthens me in my studies. Another portrayed a unique way to finish even thou it’s not easy to compete with the modern ways of studies.
On December 20th, 2011 was the last day before Christmas break. We all decided to organize a class outing of which all would be at one restaurant to dine and communicate. Since it was impromptu, a delegation was sent to scout out a place of which we can meet. It was such a wonderful time we all shared and our tutor Mr. Mpelo Parfait graced with his presence. On our way out from the restaurant, snow started in Warsaw and it was such a beautiful time for those new comers.

I wouldn’t say it has been good for all since most people had higher aspiration and different measures. But so far so good I see the trend that we are leading to is on the right path.

 

 

Alcide De Gasperi University of Euroregional Economy in Józefów (WSGE)

Pursuant to the act of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education dated March 6, 2007, relative to the changes in registering of private universities WSGE is

currently listed under the number 257. In 27th of September, 2004, WSGE adopted the name of Alcide de Gasperi, an eminent Italian statesman.

WSGE offers a wide range of courses at several departments: Administration, Pedagogy, Management, Internal Security, Evironmental Protection.

The Administration and Pedagogy Departments were created between the years of 2002 and 2003. In 2004 the Management Department was set up, and the next year

Environmental Protection studies sprang into life. In 2007 WSGE was awarded permission to establish Internal Security (Bachelor’s program).

In 2008 was established at WSGE Master degree studies at the Department of Pedagogy (Master’s degree program). Finally, on the 30th of December,

2010, WSGE was permitted to run master studies at the Department of Internal Security.On Februrary 2011, WSGE started running with

 

International cooperation and programmes

International cooperation is very crucial point at University. We have students from Italy, Spain, Turkey, Nepal, Bangladesh, India, Tajikistan, Ghana.

Bachelor, Engineering and Master Programmes are running. We can offer for our students postgraduate studies, courses specialized trainings. All courses are in English.

 

The Goals of the University of Regional Economy in Józefów.

The main goal of the University is to link the education and business. To prepared WSGE graduates to be professional and good educated employee.

The curriculums reflect the ministerial requirements and match the demands of an innovative economy. The education process

is supported by European projects grants. A rich variety of trainings, internships ( partly co-financed by WSGE), workshops,

postgraduate studies help both the didactic staff and students and graduates to constantly to acquire new qualifications.

 

The courses are in the form of traditional lectures, tutorials, lab classes.

The University regularly contributes to the academic environment by publishing reports in its own magazine that boasts of ministerial recognition.

WSGE runs a career advisory service that monitors professional activity of their graduates. It carries out research in

their workplaces in order to evaluate their competitiveness on the job market. The WSGE graduates usually find employment

in local and central state authority institutions.

 

European education programs

WSGE widely make use of European Union education programs. The most popular is LLP Erasmus that fosters participation the

University’s students and its cadre and staff in international academic exchange. Within the LLP Erasmus programme students

can also go on an international internship. To better promote inter-universities partnership, WSGE launched the distance

learning system commonly referred to as E- Learning.

 

WSGE and national middle schools and high schools coopperation

Since the opening of the University it has been in close contact in middle and high schools. Education and training

campaigns for the youth are launched as well as general knowledge contests in close conjunction with other national

institutions, e.g the Police authorities. WSGE take pains to maintain cooperation with other Polish universities concerning

running second-cycle studies. It focuses on the education offer, the realization of research programs and obtaining

financial education assistance from the UK.
