Between the 12th July and 26th July 2014, the Alcide De Gasperi University of Euroregional Economy in Józefów organized international summer school, called Central European Summer School. Motto of CESS 2014 was: United in Diversity. The group from Tajikistan with their teacher and students from WSGE took part in this event.

In the first two days all the participants had a chance to visit the main attraction in Warsaw such as the Palace of Culture and Science, Old Town and King’s Palace, Nowy Świat Street.

In the next two days the tour to Berlin was organized, where the group among others could see Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag, Potsdamer Platz.

After the arrival from Germany on 17th July the participants were welcomed at University of Euroregional Economy in Józefów. After welcoming words the group was asked to take part in team building games. The last part of the day was devoted for Polish classes held by Mrs. Aurelia Łuczyńska.

On the 18th of July we held English classes with Mr. Henry Appiah Gyamfi, Mr. Joe Vaughn and Mr. Tom Gresk.

Between the 19th and 20th of July the group visited the Warsaw Zoo and the Royal Łazienki Park.

The ninth day of the summer school was dedicated to the workshop named: Cultural differences in business diplomacy and negotiations. The workshop focused on cultural differences in negotiation styles and tried to explain how they can affect business communication. All participants discussed real-life examples of specific behaviours in various situations and analysed a few case studies. The workshop was prepared by our professor – Mrs. Anna Antczak-Barzan. Right after the lunch break the Polish classes were held by Mrs. Aurelia Łuczyńska.

On the next day the group participated in a training “Personal Business Skills Development part I” presented by Mr. Tom Gresk. The training concerned: Public speaking and presentation giving; Finding possible career opportunities;  Self-assessment and strategic career planning; Writing an effective CV and cover letter; Entrepreneurship. After this training again participants took part in Polish classes held by Mrs. Aurelia Łuczyńska.

On the 23rd of July we have organized a tour to the Polish Parliament. The group could learn how the Sejm and Senate work and what its history is. Then the whole group went to The Warsaw University’s Library to visit the biggest garden in Europe placed on the roof. The last part of the visit in Warsaw was devoted to the tour to Copernicus Science Centre.

The 24th of July was dedicated to the second part of training with Mr. Tom Gresk and also to English classes with Mr. Henry Appiah Gyamfi and Mr. Joe Vaughn.

On the last day of the Central European Summer School 2014 all participants took part in its evaluation and then we thanked the Tajik group for their participation.
